If you provide a print-ready file that meets technical requirements, we can complete digital print orders in 48 hours and offset orders in 3–5 business days. Digital vs. Offset Printing – When to Choose and What Print Runs?
At GraffPrint, we provide digital printing services using high-end HEIDELBERG machines for formats up to SRA3. This technology eliminates the need for printing plates—files are sent directly to the Fiery server and then to the press.

We recommend offset printing for orders starting from 500–1000 units. This technique transfers ink from CTP (Computer-to-Plate) matrices via cylinders onto the substrate, using four plates for the CMYK color model with a Fogra 39 profile.

Cost Efficiency: The unit price drops significantly as the quantity increases, making offset the only economically viable option for orders above 1000 units.

Common Pitfalls in Printing Technology Selection
The most frequent mistake is choosing offset printing for a small run (e.g., 200 units). The fixed CTP prepress costs (plate exposure) do not pay off below 500 units, increasing the unit cost by 40–80% compared to digital printing.
Exception: If every copy requires Variable Data Printing (VDP) or personalization, digital printing is the mandatory choice, regardless of the quantity.

To prepare an accurate calculation, please include the following information in your inquiry:

Printing instructions
During the preparation of files for printing attention should be paid to the following:
- Ensure that all graphics are in CMYK color space (the use of RGB graphics is not allowed).
- Ensure that all graphics have the recommended resolution of 300 dpi (minimum 240 dpi).
- Embed fonts in the file or convert them to curves.Include bleed (3-5 mm) meaning that graphics extend beyond the crop marks.
- Ensure that colors are defined in CMYK.
- Ensure that Pantone colors UV varnish masks and die lines are vector objects defined as additional colors.

We usually print small and medium runs digitally.
This process doesn’t require the creation of printing plates, which shortens turnaround time and reduces printing costs. Instead, digital files are sent directly to the Fiery print server and then to the printing press.
This is especially useful for short runs, personalized materials, or print-on-demand services.
At our printing house in Warsaw, we use dedicated paper that prevents sheet deformation after passing through the digital press. The maximum sheet size we can handle is 960×330 mm.

High-volume runs are most cost-effective with offset printing, which allows for a much wider range of substrates and larger formats.
This process is based on the principle that ink is transferred from a printing plate to printing cylinders, and then from the cylinders onto the paper surface. Special inks are used in this process.
At our Warsaw printing house, the standard setup uses four printing plates – one for each CMYK color (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). This technology ensures extremely high color accuracy thanks to the use of Fogra color profiles.

How to Prepare a Print-Ready File: PDF, CMYK, 3 mm Bleed, 300 DPI
A professional print file must be a PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 standard—not a standard PDF intended for screen viewing. The fundamental difference? A print-ready PDF contains embedded fonts, CMYK color space, vector spot colors, 3 mm bleeds, and a resolution of 300 DPI. Files sent from office software without these parameters require prepress intervention, which extends the lead time by one business day.
3 mm Bleed Margins: Why They are Mandatory
A 3 mm bleed is the area outside the final trim size where the artwork extends beyond the crop marks. Missing bleeds are the most common file error. Without them, there is no “safety margin” during the cutting process, which can result in thin white edges.

RGB vs. CMYK Color Space
Files in RGB (the standard for monitors) are automatically converted to CMYK by the print house without separate client approval.
